  • Mark Eckel retiring from Eagles beat reporting

I know a lot of people here had disagreements with him, but he kept things entertaining.

    I wish him the best.

Hadn't he already retired from the beat reporting once before? Before he moved to NJ.com I thought he moved to only writing a weekly column. I thought Shorr-Parks is their best reporter.

I've always disliked Sluggo, and I hope his retirement isn't forced due to poor health. I seem to recall he had health issues recently.

              Sitting with Eckel

is probably what got him fired.
John Erlichman, one of President Richard Nixon's closest aides, has admitted America's "War on Drugs" was a hoax designed to vilify and disrupt "the antiwar left and black people" when it was launched in 1971.
