  • Conf. to Bardy, RJohns

First, thanks for setting it up. Pretty wild year this year.

Second, we need a tiebreak, I've got 2 ideas:

    1) See what happens this week and if it's tied again, we pick slates of playoff games until someone has a better record (if you go 3-1 in wild card weekend and I go 2-2, you win - but if we both go 2-2, we continue to next round).

    2) Pick a team this week with margin of victory. If one of us picks a winner and one doesn't, it's game over. If both win, then largest margin of victory or if both lose, smallest margin of loss.

    Thoughts?

I agree that a tiebreaker is needed.

I kinda like option #2. If it somehow ends in a tie after that, then we start over and just replay the season.

I like this post with the Joe Banner avatar.

Just my two cents... you want a tiebreaker that will be decisive.

Also consider, this will be EPIC.

Potential problem: Suppose both pick the same team.
I think you have to hold the picks blind until both are committed.

Sure - we could do total points like the NCAA tournament bracket tiebreaks. closest wins.

          We could also do a:

          1) winner, margin of victory, total points - pick. That should cover all the bases in 1 week. If we tie after that, it's just a tie haha.

Also, all teams available or just what we have left?

Edited to add: Any tiebreaker in the actual NFL playoffs is silly, IMHO. I've heard of other leagues doing this, but I think it ends at the end of the regular season. Just my thoughts.

Just end it after this week. If you both survive, you get to have a two-man splooge fest.

I say submit 3 picks in priority order. If picks one are the same or both win, then pick 2 is in play. Same to pick 3.

If no winner with that, then margin of victory for first choices that are different takes it.

              No teams we've picked before.

Fine with this as well. I think the 3 teams, albeit hard, should do the trick.

The Joe Banner pic is legendary. I miss having the Banner discussions on the bored.
500 internet fights, that's the number I figured when I first joined igglephans. 500 internet fights and you could consider yourself a legitimate internet-tough guy. You need them for experience, to develop leather skin. So I got started. Of course along the way you stop thinking about being tough and all that. It stops being the point. You get past the silliness of it all. But then...after...you realize that's what you are.

Sent - thanks for helping us out.

I think I know what Bardy's picks are and I think I'm going to have a tough time.

                            1) Indianapolis Colts
                            2) Oakland Raiders
                            3) Baltimore Ravens

Edited to note: sent these to Rjohns yesterday, but wanted to post as I suspect he won't get a chance to post.
