  • Dalvin Cook hype train

FSUs all time leading rusher returns home to south Florida for his last game as a Seminole tonight in the Orange Bowl. He should be the guy that we all want drafted this year. He's a huge talent and instantly gives the eagles a weapon on offense and makes them a better team from Day 1.

We (not they) are going to need everything to go right this weekend to get into the top 10 to have a chance to draft this guy.

I am still on the CB/OL/RB (in that order) train until someone (Cook?) makes me want it another way.

That's fair. I just feel like the eagles desperately need to bring in another stud on offense so Wentz doesn't need to try and be the man every play. Dalvin can be that guy. Unfortunately the word is out on Cook so probably more of a pipe dream that the birds get him. I feel like he will go somewhere in the top 5 (Jags).

He's everything you want in a NFL back. If it's gonna take a top 10 pick to get him they (not we) are likely screwed bc I don't think Chicago will beat MN on the road.

Shady was a second rounder, Westbrook and Duce third. No reason to spend a first rounder on a running back.

Totally agree, CB is still number one priority in my opinion.

Would you draft Elliot with a first? I would (and I hate to admit he's good)

I wouldn't take fournette or any other RB in the 1st. But If Eagles pick around 15-17 and cook is still there I'd take him over reaching for a bigger need. Never can go wrong with a Bpa mentality and his presence on the field as a 3 down weapon would help Wentz big time.

If I thought Cook was a legit can't miss stud talent, like Elliot, I'd not only draft him in the first, I'd try to move up, if I had to, to get him.

Nothing makes an offense go like a legit RB and a deep threat.

All you have to do is take a gander at Pittsburg and Dallas and remember McCoy and Jackson.

Now, if they truly think that a guy like McCoy or Bell is there in the second round, like they were when they were drafted, fine.

But if the only guy they think who is that level is Cook ... fucking go get him.

I still believe you never draft a running back in the first. Derrick Henry (Round 2), Jordan Howard (Round 5), and Kenneth Dixon (Round 4) could have had similar success if they ended up in Dallas.

I was happy Dallas didn't pick Jalen Ramsey. He would have solidified a position that is very difficult to draft. For the record, I would take Ramsey over Elliott for this team.

I won't be unhappy with a top player at corner or offensive line or receiver, but I could name busts at those positions in the first round ... and big time players at those positions in later rounds.

The problem for this team is who's evaluating whether the guy is a can't miss player.

I was gonna post the same thing about how many OL, CB, and Wr's wash out and are total first round busts.

Haven't looked but seems like those positions have more BCJ's than others taken highly. Could be they're just more noticed though. Or maybe they're picked more bc of need and therefore a higher # of busts. Teams always looking for CB and OL help and tend to reach over taking a BPA

When Howie Boy Blunder Roseman is running the show I want to eliminate as much risk as possible. And Cook sure looks like a 100% can't miss prospect.

He reminds me a lot of my boy Edgerrin James but with a better stiff arm. Really hope they (we) are able to snag him

If the Eagles can stay within the first fifteen picks, they have a good track record in the first round. It's when they end up later in the round is where they end up shitting the bed. It's too early to project who goes where but I sure hope this team isn't even thinking about a running back in the first.

I want Mike Williams from Clemson.

My thinking re: WR in round 1

Keeping the Eagles' past failures in mind...

Williams has some pretty significant injury history, and I would hate for them to pick him and then hope they hit it big (or at least right) with a later round CB.

The fact that Carroll has been having contract talks with the Eagles is disheartening, too. It makes me think they are satisfied with retreads. Probably reading too much into it...

I still say bring Jackson back and draft/trade for a better-than-average WR and go into 2017 with:

                              Matthews
                              Jackson
                              New guy
                              DGB
