I don't hate Okafor but I just don't think he fits. They play better without him and I much prefer Noel.

McConnell can't be your starting PG but maybe he has a backup role. He's kind of my barometer for the team's success. When he is no longer playing more than a few minutes per game I expect them to be pretty good.

The jury is still out because MCW turned into the Lakers pick so we don't know what that player will be yet, but it would be nice if Hinkie drafted Giannis instead of MCW in 2014.

He was 17.5/7 last season. He has the talent. He will likely show it elsewhere. This is Embiid's team now so I'm going to guess Okafor will eventually talk his way out of town. As far as Noel, he's expendable. I'm not sure he wants to be here either and I think he thinks he's better than he really is.

I still prefer Hinkie over Colangelo. I don't think we would have this logjam if he was still here. JMO

It does not matter how much he averaged last year. He plays zero defense. None. He provides little to no rim protection and if you are a big guy in today's game who provides no rim protection, you damn well better be able to hedge and guard in the pick and roll. He has zero lateral movement and because of that, he is forced to play back 10 feet whenever a ball screen is set. Offenses either get a wide open 15 footer when he is involved in a ball screen or a layup because he gets his doors blown off. Offensively he is vastly overrated as well. He has no ability to score out of the pick and roll because he rolls so slow. Watch Nerlens' roll to the rim compared to Jahs. It is night and day. In addition, Noel can get up and catch a lob when rolling. With Simmons and Embiid, the last thing this team needs is a guy who can only score in as ISO in the post.

Regarding Hinkie, 100% agree there. BC sucks, imo

Duke players typically don't play defense. That's Coach K's MO. We all knew that. Okafor is to defense, what Noel is to offense. Overall, I think Okafor has a higher ceiling. I've seen enough of Noel to say he is average at best. I'm not sure I'm ready to give a player away because he doesn't know how to play defense at 21. Don't get me wrong, I don't see a future with Embiid and Okafor together because I'm not sure the coaching is there. At this point, I'd prefer they move on from both and keep my fingers crossed Embiid stays healthy. If Popovich was here, maybe I'd think differently.

Noel might be average at best offensively but he's a good defender. I wouldn't say he's an "average at best" player overall. He's not a superstar but I think he can have a nice role in this team.

He can have a role if they don't sign him for one of those ridiculous contracts that seems like commonplace in the NBA nowadays. Let's not forget he has hands like an Eagles wideout and has shown zero offensive improvement. It appears we may just view 'average at best' differently. I see him potentially as another Samuel Dalembert with the wrong contract.

                    Plus/minus again.

Looking at that, Jah is worse than Noel and Embiid.

Just get what you can for the Dookie and move on.

If you're using plus/minus, I assume you would be OK with the Flyers moving Gostisbehere?

The one drawback of plus/minus statistics is that it's influenced by the other players on the court as well. A mid-tier player who is typically on the court with a superstar will see an inflated plus/minus ratio. Okafor and Embiid aren't seeing a lot of time on the court together.

I agree Embiid is better than Okafor at this point. I'm not saying Noel is better than Okafor. Just because he may now not fit here, you don't just move him for nothing.

You just have to look at what the Sixers have coming in and currently have and Okafor makes zero sense. Noel complements Simmons far better. Noel's defense is a million times better than Okafor. While Okafor does have the ability in the post to score, I just do not see this team needing that with the way they are going. Simmons is a player who dominates the ball and rightfully so with his abilities. Embiid has shown to be an absolute stud but still needs plenty of work in the post. I still think Brett Brown should give Tim Duncan a job just to teach Biid post moves and how to use his body down there. Only way Okafor can score and be effective whatsoever at this level is to throw it to him on the block and let him play ISO ball down there. Simmons cannot really shoot yet so his defender will be digging hard on Okafor in the post. He just does not make a lot of sense with his limited abilities. I am expecting either Lonzo Ball or Dennis Smith in the draft. I am praying Malik Monk slips to our #5 pick if thats what the Lakers pick ends up being.

The Sixers might not even end up with a Top 5 with their own pick this year.

You might be right. Once Simmons gets acclimated I expect them to be playing pretty good ball. They're already better than the worst of the worst.

Did you see Dennis Smith last night? I had mentioned him earlier in the year but he was off to a rough start coming back from injury. Looks pretty good now.

He's a stud. Do not see the Sixers getting him, but who knows. I think the 76ers end up with Tatum who I actually really like. Regarding PG position, I think the 76ers make a huge run a Lowry. From Philly and would be a great fit. Guards the shit outta people and can make shots.
