The draft comes to Philadelphia this spring. On April 27, Roger Goodell simply has to approach the dais and announce, "With the fifth pick in the 2017 NFL draft, the Philadelphia Eagles select Mike Williams, wide receiver, Clemson."

If Goodell doesn't say those words then Eagles general manager Howie Roseman should be fired right there, on the spot.

IIRC, he was a beat writer, then got moved to another sport (Phillies?), and now is back as a football columnist. Aside from his apparent axe to grind re: Myths McLane getting tossed from the press box (total bush league move by the Gold Standard), he is really going after the wrong shit.

The Rowe thing had a little legs because Roseman's explanation was pretty bad. The Barwin and Curry thing is topical (both DEs sucked in 2016), but will be a non-issue until after 2017 if Barwin is traded or released and Curry gets to start (likely). A Barwin trade/release's effect on the cap is something a lot of the Philly writers are failing to mention when they gripe about how little cap room Howie has left the team with.

Angelo Cataldi could have written the same Mike Williams draft column and had the same lousy impact as Mucus.
