Finally benched Okafor. What I have been saying all along. He just has not been able to do it because of injuries. I would LOVE to see Okafor come out pissed tomorrow when he starts but he probably wont... What nerd said, I think TJ may potentially be this teams long term backup PG?

Yes...I think that is definitely plausible.

To slizz's comments. I think it has more to do with giving brown actual NBA players.

Also...Embiid is trolling Hassan Whiteside. He might be my favorite player in the city. Probably has the best chance to be in that "super elite" category.

Ewing said that Embiid quite possibly could be the most talented big in the league. Ewing isn't known for saying and fluffing others.

Because he is playing better than okafor and fits better than okafor. Defense begets offense and defense wins for the most part.

I don't hate okafor...But between the two...I would rather have noel because of the defensive ability.

I'm not sure what Okafor has to do with Noel. I'm just talking about Noel. He just came off a game where he didn't play well and he's receiving praise. I understand praising Embiid but what did Noel do? I think Ofafor playing poorly has given this guy an inflated value. I really just don't get it. I'd trade him in a heartbeat.

Bc they have won 5 of their last 6 in the first time in lord knows how long? They actually have a rotation that works and the bench is producing. Saric continues to REALLY surprise me with his long ball success.

When you have two rim protectors like Embiid and Noel, the first and second units can play equally well defensively.
The other players can focus on the three knowing that if their assignment drives past them that a big will be there to contest a bucket inside.

Could they have won 5 out of 6 with both Okafor and Noel on the bench? Maybe. Noel didn't really contribute last night. I'd take Richaun Holmes if I needed to replace those stats. Someone brought up plus/minus the other day, he was a team's worst -14. In his defense, I'm not a fan of the plus/minus stat but it's worth mentioning.

We can agree to disagree on our opinion of Noel. I'm just not a fan. If they end up overpaying him, which seems to be the norm in the NBA anymore, I see Sammy Dalembert 2.0. I hated that guy.

If I could play fantasy GM for a day, I'd send a combination of Okafor, Noel, and/or one of their first-round picks to the Celtics for their Nets pick (assuming it's #1 or #2) and another pick/player. That may give them their 'Big 3' (3D) for the next 10 years. The Celtics get their big man, they don't really need another guard in a guard heavy draft, and neither of those players will slow down Embiid.
