I realized you could keep Messenger. I love seeing stuff from folks I wouldn't otherwise be in touch with (mostly pictures though and so I kept Instagram) and I like wishing people a happy birthday, but I can at least reach out to them on Messenger if I need to. Otherwise, the negatives have begun to outweigh the positives.

Bravo, Good Sir -- You Really Drove The Point Home!
There are those in this disjointed family who couldn't care less if I never post again -- to them I say "Tough sh*t, I'm still here."
My visits have been fewer and farther between simply because, quite frankly, it's just not as much fun as it used to be.
Even when our Fearless Leader used to take his almost daily potshots at me and would commence to "clapping hands and giggling like a schoolgirl" when I reacted like a human Krakatoa, this venue was unique -- it was special. It was a kelly green and silver refuge where the best group of guys I've ever had the pleasure of knowing could talk about the team we love and a bevy of other things. Hell, most of you I don't even know your given names and it doesn't matter -- your handle is your ID and always will be.
My visits became fewer and farther between when the subject matter stopped being fun and, like Georgie, I took a sabbatical.
Everything changes in this world and usually for the better: microwave ovens instead of wood or coal stoves -- 900+ TV channels instead of 12.
However not in this case and I echo IG's eloquent sentiments. Let's get this place back to where it used to be -- please."If I owned Texas and Hell, I'd rent out Texas and live in Hell!"

I do still enjoy twitter, but I've come to the conclusion that social media is destroying this country, especially in this hyper-partisan, politics-as-a team-sport, consistency and facts be damned United States we are living in today. That sounds hyperbolic, but I really feel that way.
I wish I could just move to an island or a cabin in the woods somewhere.

i agree. This is an Eagles board.
I don't care about Politics much anymore.
I am retired now, and personally believe "I don't care what they do in towns".
I recall in 1968 I held signs protesting Tricky Dick at his motorcade thru Springfield, Pa.
He sat on the back top down of his convertible saw our group and flashed the peace sign to us (what a hypocrite).I agree this country appears to be as divided as it was then.
But it should not be brought onto this board IMHO.
