  • Embiid out for season.

Per release by Sixers. All over twitter. Bone bruise better, meniscus tear looks more pronounced.

That's a shame, the kid was the only entertainment, annoyed I missed him when they were in town.

So now they tank for the rest of the year for a higher draft pick? "The Process" is so confusing...

They are at the point right now where rookies are gonna be scared to get drafted by the Sixers. Completely cursed...

If Simmons and Embiid are both just being held out for tank purposes, fine, but, every time they go for a new scan, each one of these guys is worse off than before.

If these injuries are legit, what the fuck is the Sixers medical staff doing and why do they still have a job?

Federer just won the Aussie Open coming off a meniscus tear so it's not like it's some huge injury. Right to shut him down for it though. Agree that this medical staff is a joke

The whole staff should be fired.

The meniscus injury all depends on whether they will remove the piece of the meniscus that is torn, or attempt to repair it.

Usually, if the subject is young they will not remove it because it causes friction (bone on bone). The bad news about a repair is that it takes about triple the amount of time to recover...Probably 4-5 months to be 100% healthy.

It's a tank with a side of precaution. It's best for business.

Saric is a ton of entertainment for me. Tough and talented. Heck of a player and getting better... Plus fun to watch.

Their Trainer is a former zoologist so I'm not surprised what a joke the medical staff is

They need to clean out his knee ASAP, IMO.

No point in letting ths cause a problem next season.

They'll go non-surgical as long as possible. Obviously surgery could happen tomorrow but even a "clean-out" can lead to further problems.

If you wait to the start of next season and then have to do surgery you are looking at another few months to a year.

I am not a doctor but if it is beneficial it is better to get it done now.

Typically...Pt for a torn meniscus can take a couple months and maybe longer. If after that time there is no improvement surgery would probably take place. I think it's been about a month. Unless it's bad enough that surgery is needed.

I'm not a doctor but my job has me see surgeries constantly. If there is one meniscus surgery... Another one almost always seems to follow.
