He can probably stretch it better than Agholor. He's obviously not the same guy he was with Baltimore, but we literally may have the worst receivers in the league. This is an upgrade at a reasonable price.

Maybe the change of scenery/system does him good. ESPN also had this stat:

'Smith was also a monster in terms of drawing pass interference penalties in Baltimore, picking up 26 calls for 571 yards over his four years in town.'

That might help offset the DPIs on the Eagles secondary.

Fan of this. two years ago he led the league with 20.1 yards per reception and then in the dumpster fire that was the 49ers struggled last year.

He's a solid receiver. 3 years 15 million is fine as well. Doesn't break the bank.

didn't PFF have Malcom Jenkins rated as trash when the eagles signed him and Byrd was one of the best safeties?

Byrd gets cut and Jenkins is considered a very good safety in the NFL.

PFF is nice, but I look at the team that he was on more than anything else. He went from being a pretty good wideout with the Ravens from 2011-2014 and then struggled in San Fran.

Even in his first year which he didn't get a ton of yards, he still led the league in yards per reception.

I'm not saying he's going to be amazing...but the "he's a turd" crowd. Come on.

Yeah. Gabbert/Kaepernick + Chip's offense isn't the best recipe for success...

He definitely signed for a lot less than some of the other mediocre WRs so hopefully he'll want to prove himself.

Agree. I would hope they aren't signing him with the intent that he is going to be their # 1 receiver. Assuming that isn't the case, I don't see the problem with this. A good receiver at a reasonable price.

I was sure the Raisins would take him, there was a lot of buzz in the B More area.

Have to say however I'm not impressed, I watch a bit of him play being in the Raisins broadcast zone .... Always struck me as being kind of a one trick pony.
