Stop gap? Why does a last place team need him for one year? I'm pretty sure Williams or Davis is out the window. If that was the case, they should have just traded for Osweiler and gotten a second-rounder (I miss Hinkie).

So wentz isn't throwing to a fucking rookie that you aren't sure will be on the board by the time you pick and torrey smith.

Wait wait wait ... I know what's up ... he's stockpiling wide receivers so he can move up in the first to draft another wide receiver and then wait for someone's number one wide receiver to blow out his knee in training camp so he can trade for a first round pick.

yeah, this. and they still could draft a guy. smith is guaranteed 500k. they're not relying on him.

a lot of people on here are saying this team always does the same shit, but they ignored WR for a long time under FF. the fact that they're not doing it again with pedey is good.

The entire wr corps are now essentially on a one year deal. What do you think is going to happen? Wentz has someone to throw to. That's what 14 mil bought them. Reports are he lobbied for him.

Helps wentz big time and guarantee you'll get his best so he can cash in in 30-8.

I don't believe this means williams or Davis are out the window. I actually think these moves mean the opposite.

Im not looking at this as a "we need one more piece" move

It gives wentz someone to throw to and hopefully they bring williams or davis.

I guess I'll just have to wait until the draft but my gut says a CB (Sidney Jones) in the first and a WR (Zay Jones) in the second.

Would you take Cook at 14?

                        I wouldn't but it's intriguing

This team is not a contender ... it's rebuilding ... so why would you rent these fucks so they can have good years and get overpaid in FA?

I'm not a fan of a running back in the first. The one thing this front office can do is find a running back in the later rounds.

They didn't give up any draft picks. They can contend while rebuilding. NFC is wide open.

Yeah, it's pretty uncommon for a last place team to win a division the following year in the NFL. Especially in the NFC. And extra especially in the NFC East.

                                NFC East Finish Order:

                                2016: Dallas, NY, Washington, Philadelphia
                                2015: Washington, Philadelphia, NY, Dallas
                                2014: Dallas, Philadelphia, NY, Washington
                                2013: Philadelphia, Dallas, NY, Washington
                                2012: Washington, NY, Dallas, Philadelphia
                                2011: NY, Dallas, Philadelphia, Washington

I mean, there's not chance that a last place team can contend the following year.
