  • Ben Albright hearing Cook falls to 2nd, Mixon goes ahead of him

    From multiple FO sources.

Seems like Cook has a lot more baggage than we were aware of heading into offseason

Either Lurie put the kabosh on Mixon, or Howie's feigning disinterest. The whole canceled private workout thing seemed contrived to me.

I think they were really hoping to get him in the second. That's not happening. If they want him, trade down into the 20s and take him there. Even with the 20th pick, he's an absolute steal. It's really gonna suck if Green Bay gets him.

Still think DB is the bigger need.....

.....over RB ....so I'm not worried with the 1st round.

I've been saying this all along. Cook is not that talented. Fournette > Mixon >>> Cook.

I'm not sure about Mixon going in the 1st with that video out there, but who knows.

First round running back would be a mistake. Its a passing league.

Also this draft is freaking loaded at RB. There are a number of mid rounders who could be very productive pros. Patience is key here.

Cook is extremely talented and a legit 3 down back with home run ability. Strictly football speaking I'd rank him #1 back overall.

It's his medical and off field stuff that's making him drop. Also hearing he's not knocking socks off on private visits. Maybe that's more smokescreens. It's that time of year

Not sure he's a student of the game. He sounded like he didn' know who our starting qb was. He said Goff in an interview. Coulda been slip of tongue but maybe he's not doing his homework. IDK.

His on the field resume and production in the nation's best conference the past 2 years speaks for itself. Dude is a baller but there's other shit we don't know about fully I'm sure.

This is why a guy like McCaffrey has value. Runs, catches, blocks. Not a pure running back by any means.

if we pick one in the middle rounds...

..that's great, but DB, LB, and DL are thin and full of questions.

After the draft and Mathews has cleared the medical I see the Iggs releasing him and getting another veteran RB from the bargain bin.

He's looking pretty Mamula-esque right now

I agree that he was super-productive in college, but I think his rise has a little more to do with the fact that aside from Fournette, the top dudes all have "character" or medical issues that are pushing them down in relation to his combine/workout rise.

Cook has the shoulders and the police reports.
                      Mixon...well, he broke a woman's face.

Now, if the Eagles think he's a Jordan Matthews/Darren Sproles replacement, I may be more inclined to pull the trigger at 14...Take him at 14, dump JMatthews for a 3rd, and pick up a "big back" a little later on.

He has value just not in the 1st, 2nd sure thing just not with 14.
