  • Jason peters came back from 2 achilles tears

Sidney Jones weighs 125lbs less and is 15 years younger. He's gonna be fine.

Cornerback vs tackle is not comparable. Sticking to a receiver is a much different skill. There were plenty of healthy cornerbacks. Bargain basement Howie gave up on this season. What was the point of signing Jeffrey if they weren't thinking playoffs?

U now something your wrong here

Achilles tendon injuries impact Defensive ends and Tackles much greater than a wide receiver or Corner,,Huge difference in planting and making cuts then Planting your right leg back while another 290lb man is pushing on you,,As a corner he will get engaged on running plays but mostly he will be running cutting and Jumping,,Much easier than a tackle moving to the wing plant then flex. 30 years ago this a bad thing for a 30 year old, in 2017 its a year rehab back to 100% for a 21 Y/O

Incorrect. Speed positions are most affected.

        But here's the bottom line...

That article is 7 years old now. Demarious Thomas came back from one and was his old beast self. Michael Crabtree came back just fine. Probably playing st his highest level as a pro since it happened actually.

          Terrell Suggs also came back.

Medical procedures make quantum leaps in 7 years time and his Dr is supposedly the dr Andrews equivalent for these procedures.

Jones' tear occured much higher on the tendon which made his Dr very optimistic about his chances of possibly returning even as early as mid year. I'd personally sit him til 2018.

if peters can do it after 2 back to back occurrences at his age I'm confident Jones will as well.

and the data is 15 years old. It also includes 31 injuries and fails to control for regular NFL outcomes (e.g. a practice squad player aging out or a UDFA who never really had a chance).

That doesn't mean it's not a gamble, but that there are just a ton of variables.

I guess we'll find out in a couple years. Until then we can enjoy watching Robinson and Mills get toasted.

Which would be the case even if they hadn't taken Jones.

                    i love the pick

Stash the kid away this season, and have him ready for next year. he's a top ten talent.

Not if they had drafted Humphrey in the first round.

I like it, as well. Hopefully it works out as planned. It's a real gamble, but I think they've done enough investigation to make it a relatively safe one.
