British Open courses are too easy for today's pros and their equipment.

They aren't major layouts anymore unless its raining or windy.

The announcers are trying to make a big deal about the 31st ranked player in the world shooting a 62 in a major for the first time in history and it might as well be called the fucking Arthur Treacher's Fish N' Chips Pro Am.

The weather historically has always been the biggest component of The British Open and what has made it so interesting to watch. Its a pitch and putt otherwise.

It's worse lately ... the pros are too long and the equipment is too good (particularly the ball) ... they have too many options about how to play these places in good weather ... the past few years have been ridiculous.

The PGA has to step in in regards to eqpt. Too many fantastic courses are obsolete because of the technology. Golfers haven't improved that much. Yes their physical fitness is much better as is nutrition, but when Jack Nicklaus was hitting the ball further than he did as a 30 year old until recently there is a problem.
