I've got that Rich Kotite feeling about Gomer. I think he will mire them in mediocrity with some of his boneheaded decisions. I'm rooting for Fipp to become the next HC.

I think it is OK for him to be on the hot seat. They have to do what is best for Wentz, period. With the way good rookie qb's are developed these days, if Wentz doesn't show marked improvement or if he does but Pedey can't get his act together with in game management, they have to move on to someone who can get the most out of the team and its franchise qb.

In all fairness, Pederson has put together a staff that should do nothing but help Wentz maximize his potential. He has Pederson, Reich and DeFillipo to guide him the next two years and I dont see any reason for the FO to mess with that in the short term. Frankly, Wentz couldnt ask for more support right now.

Whether Pederson is a coach capable of leading a team to a championship is a question that needs to be asked later, not right now. As far as Im concerned developing Wentz into a top ten talent at his position is currently the clear priority. If Pederson and co. can do that then its a win for the franchise. Then , if this group proves incapable of climing the ladder to a championship, the FO can deal with that decision with the luxury of knowing their franchise QB is in place for the next five to ten seasons.

I don't disagree, but the proof will be in the pudding this season. In theory, if Wentz progresses, the team should progress and it will all be moot. But, if not, Lurie has to be sure he has his prize asset in the right hands. Pederson seems like a decent guy, liked by the team so I hope he succeeds.

I do like the additions Blount , Smith, then Warmack, they have improved this team, imagine if Lurban had did this for Nabby in year two!!?

its a Process, winning right away has its drawbacks and delusions. The bar get raised and many fall short. This whole team needs to grow together,, so many players in year 2 or 3. I always temper My expectations but, Its a show me world!

Just with Wentz having a year under his belt and having Lane for the entire season should help the team greatly. Add to that a massively improved WR corp, a better pass rush and now an above-average DB, the Eagles definitely have a shot at the playoffs.
