    Joe Haden was just released outright

    Eagles still can't claim him, right? They would have to pay his ridiculous contract.

    Don't understand why browns doing this now. Seems like they fucked him over with the timing. Should have released him before camp so he could get acclimated with a new team. Doubt they didn't anticipate this back in April/may.

      Contract is guaranteed by Cleveland. Can sign him for the league min or less maybe (?) and it just offsets the $4 million in guaranteed money. Cleveland is taking a $11 million dead money hit as a result.

                They were trying to strong arm him into restructuring his salary. He refused and they cut him.

                Its not a bad play. Scumbag move, reserved for players a team wants to squeeze one more season out of, but it happens from time to time.
