  • OT: Irma. Fuck you.

Category 5, 175 sustained. Mean bitch. Bearing down on the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico. Lots of family in PR on the mind this morning. Apparently a lot of the models show it continuing westward toward Florida, then after that, who knows. One model shows it heading this way toward Myrtle. We'll head inland toward the NC mountains if we have to. Still too early to tell, but any bored members down there or in Florida, stay safe.

Ain't that the truth. Some of the before-and-after shots of the Houston area with the flooding are unreal. Lots of people down there lost everything. Co-worker of mine heard from a friend who works for our company down in St. Thomas. Said there's already 100mph sustained winds and the eye wall hasn't even made landfall yet. Crazy.

Looks nasty. I have a place in Ft Myers. Kind of worried with some of the paths predicted. Regardless its going to hit somewhere and going to affect a lot of people. Be safe!

                2PM update

185 mph sustained. I don't remember ever hearing of a hurricane with 185 mph sustained. Not a lot of land in its way to weaken it, either. Looks ugly.

The thrill of coastal living! A hurricane could wipe out my house, but at least I'll have a great tan when it happens.

North Myrtle is nice. Love that big flat beach at low tide. VB doesn't get that as much.

My daughter moved from MB to Clemson last month. I'm very happy about that.

The NFL just announced that the MIA/TB game will not be played Sunday. Both teams have a bye week 11, so it's looking like they will make it up then.

Man that last update from the NHC doesn't look too hot for the folks down in Florida. Now they have it projected to move over Cuba then starting to turn toward Florida and head northward from there. Could swing around wide and really dump on them down there. Crazy that Houston just dealt with Harvey last week, now this is coming up this weekend. A Cat 4 hits the US one week, and less than two weeks later, another one could hit.
