  • Just got back from the Clapton concert

    at Madison Sq. Garden.

    Clapton can still bring it ... and Gary Clark Jr. is fucking amazing.

    They did "Before You Accuse Me" as the encore together (also with Jimmie Vaughan) that I wish I had on tape.

    Best time that I saw Clapton was at the Cream reunion at MSG in fall 2005. If he's still putting on a good show that is great.

      Saw him at the Meadowlands and at Live Aid (he was the best act, when he came on and played "She's Waiting" the day had just started Collins off it was awesome).

        Clapton has that effortless way of ripping it but, frankly, Gary Clark Jr. was crazy good.

        He was worth the ticket alone ... and I will be looking for him when he comes around again.

            There's that great scene in The Last Waltz where Robbie Robertson is soloing and really working hard then Clapton solos and looks effortless and Robbie just shakes his head on stage.

                  years ago it was Tim Renwick, also saw Mark Knopfler back him

                  He has had so many great guys play with him;

                  Clapton has always been a huge influence to me musically,,I feel out of all the guys coming out of the Yardbirds he was clearly the best all around musician. Guy could sing, write and not just play,,but in his younger days was just liquid on the guitar. He helped Create a genre w/ the beatles.

                  With Ticket prices like this,,took me 20 years to see him again,,,will just buy eagles tixs,,I can go to 5 games for the same amount of $$$$$$$$$ as this one show,,,Yikes!

                    Speaking of Clapton, a friend of mine just reminded me that we saw him playing in support of Roger Waters back in the day. Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking tour.

                    Clapton just played guitar. Don't think he sang anything.

                      I was at the famous "Stop Fucking whistling" show Spectrum 84

                      the 1st leg of the tour was Clapton and he kicked ass, second leg was Andy fairweather Low,,never forget EC playing have a Cigar, and young Lust, Welcome to the Machine, Careful with that ax eugene, set the controls, Pigs on the wing, and money of course... Roger scolded the philly crowd in the 1st level for whistling really loud during an acoustic song!
                      Clapton walked over to him and said,,"This is America, you can't do that! Apologize" Waters reluctantly walk up to the Mic and said...i'M SORRY.. what a fuctard!

                      last time I ever Saw waters,,saw clapton 22 more times,,,tale of tape!

                        I believe that was the same show me and my friend attended! I have to check my ticket stub collection. Unfortunately a lot of the ticketmaster ones have ink that has faded out.
