  • Chris Carson: 31st pick in 7th round of 2017 draft

Bell cow. Ran well behind a terrible OL.

Donnell Bumphrey : traded up to take him in the 4th.

Joe Douglas gonna change things around here! The days of BCJ's
us finally over! He came up under Ozzie Newsome!

to be fair, Rasul Douglas and Hollins played real well. Especially Douglass. Kidnlooks like a solid CB.

So many running backs in that draft. Regardless of whether Pumphrey turns out to be another Sproles (HAHAHAHA), he's still just a alternate back and kick returner. He was never going to be a 3 down back. That's what is bizarre to me. Your qb needs a workhorse, not a gimmick.

To me, it looks like they struck out at the draft and Blount was a desperation signing. Zero carries yesterday. Either he is what I thought he is - a very mediocre back when not on the Pats - or Pederson is a moron. Or both.

they were backed into a corner with blount. the only NFL RB they had on the roster was 34 years old. they had to sign the best guy available, who wasn't even better than a healthy ryan mathews. the idea that he could be a "short yardage back," well...that's not even really a thing anymore. these days good RBs don't completely give away what the offense is going to do.

There's nothing wrong with Blount. He is what he's always been. He's being used wrong or not at all. Almost reminiscent of the deroacho scurry fiasco

i think murray was more of a good RB who was a terrible fit for the system. our RB situation in 15 was a complete clusterfuck. trade the best back in franchise history, say it's about money, then panic and pay 40 million for murray when frank gore gets cold feet. murray was coming off an irreplicable season, but in a better situation i think his production would have looked more like what he did in TN last year.

blount has never really been bad on teams besides that pats, but the guy is 30 and averaged below 4 ypc last year. i don't think anyone should have had very high expectations for him.

That's what Blount is. There's nothing wrong with him, you let him pound away. That's never going to happen on this team.

Shame on Howie and Douglas for not drafting this stud that all 32 teams passed on for 7 rounds. Unforgiveable!

i guess i thought that even last year, murray was kind of a dynamic back. showed some burst. caught a lot of passes. despite the 18 TDs blount wasn't that effective on NE last season. his YPC has decreased steadily since 2013 and i think there's a reason that he was still available after we struck out in the draft.

This guy looks exactly like he did on the Steelers. Can't figure out how to use him or make teams respect him on the field.

Then he goes to NE and they give you a blueprint for how to get 1000+ yards out of him which you ignore.

The frustrating part is that we are all like rarara we need a RB that can rumble and the dude is on the bench with zero carries. What he has fallen off so dramatically from last year to this year that he can not even see the field? No.

                      Not effective?

Had 1100 rushing yards...its not like he had 400 yards and 18 TDs

Blount needs a minimum of a dozen carries a game.

He will wear a D out, make them respect the run, open up passinng game, and keep Defneses from pinning ears back and killing Wentz.

Wentz will miss games with this kind of imbalance in the play calling. Straight up gonna happen

They ranked donnell Pumphrey at least 3 rounds higher than Carson.

Measurable alone should prevent that from happening. How a guy Pumphrey' size is anything but a UDFA rating is laughable.

3.9 ypc isn't really effective on a NE offense. he also wasn't very good in the playoffs.

I know, why didn't they have the 249th pick in the draft graded higher like the other smart teams?
