I still think Gomer is a dope for the call but, according to game film and Brian Baldinger's analysis ... we'd be calling him a dope who got away with being one if Wentz saw the field better. (EDITED TO ADD: Well, actually he did get away with it because McAdoo went on 4th and Vinny Curry got the RB in the backfield)

Near the end of the first half, the Philadelphia Eagles faced a 4th and 8 from the Giants' 43 yard line with 2:36 left in the first half, holding a 7-0 lead. They should punt there, obviously, right? I mean, growing up watching football, that's what just about every other team does in that situation, which makes it right. Right?

I'm not buying the rest of the math horseshit ... but Wentz held the ball too long and pretty clearly should have hit Agholor (or checked down to Blount) there.
