Here is my thing about taking a knee

I was brought up Catholic. As part of the Mass there are times when you are supposed to kneel.

So I think of Kneeling as a major show of respect.

At the traditional Mass, you're kneeling more than you're sitting or standing. It's kind of funny that people on both sides of this nonsense think taking a knee is somehow a bad thing.

While I enjoyed watching Alejandro Villanueva apologize for standing, Big Ben now 'second-guessing' his actions, and Ray Lewis kneeling against injustice, I think this one's my favorite. What a turd!

Taking a knee or holding up your fist to show solidarity

is an acceptable form of peaceful protest

now if the players turned their backs to the flag or lifted their leg up like the dumb ass little dog they are,, then I would say thats disrespect.
