  • When Howard is back

he should be complimenting Sanders and not the other way around (that's not a knock on Howard). His development has been a huge bright spot this season.

Agreed, but what about Scott? He was a huge part of this win today. I’m glad they didn’t give him an “Alshon” contract...

Sanders and Scott are the backfield of the future. Howard isn't getting resigned. Nothing personal, but I'd prefer he sit the rest of the season out and get a nice deal in free agency.

I’m not counting on Howard playing again this year. I definitely agree that Sanders should be the feature back though. I love his potential moving forward.

IMO Scott is the perfect third back in an RBBC.

Howard is legit. You don't just get rid of him unless you're overpaying for what you're asking him to do. He could easily play more of a role, they just don't ask him to.

He's not coming back next year. And he's not 100%. Playing him is stupid.

Have u even been watching Eagles football in 2019?

hes gonna get a large contract. the Eagles have a large number of holes...RB isn’t one.

He's decent, and limited. He offers next to nothing as a receiver, and can get tracked down from behind by pretty much every linebacker in the league. He does run hard, and he's a load to bring down... he definitely makes the most of his limited skill set, but there's no way I'd commit starter money to a four yards and a cloud a dust specialist.

Scott has the potential to be a short yardage guy, plus he has receiving ability and breakaway speed when he gets to the second level. Bring in another back and let RB2 be an open competition. Money's too tight to bring back Howard, especially when you have to pay and replace Alshon in the same offseason.

Amen, Duck. This team has a massive # of holes to fill. No way you pay Howard. Sanders and Scott have both proven to very nice (and cheap) options.

Now if I search this board, how many "extend Howard now" and "extend Howard yesterday" posts am I gonna find by you. I'm too lazy, but JUT loves that stuff.

I don't disagree with the quoted post, but you are the most bi-polar WIP caller on this board and I will police you.

I hate having this conversation, because Howard's an easy guy to root for. He knows he has no real quickness or cutting ability, so he runs downhill and bowls dudes over. You have to like a guy who knows what he and what he isn't and plays no-bullshit football, but the fact of the matter is, his style of play is most likely going to result in a shortened NFL career, especially if he's having neurological issues. Six weeks ago, you could maybe make the case for bringing him back. Now that Sanders has emerged and Scott looks like he can play, it doesn't make much sense to spend the money it would take to keep him. Not with all of the other needs this team has.
