Not taking a stand either way but it seems as though this whole thing has messed up a lot of teams ie Steelers. You have got to give Petey and Laurie credit for handling this thing the right way last season which made this season seamless. Also have to give Jenkins credit for doing and saying the right things. I think this team really respects their coach and the organization.

2. Yes its the President that further divides and agitates the electorate. I know it must be painful to use history as a guide when it does not fit the agenda you prefer but the following statistic demonstrates the significant divide started a while ago. Trump has done little to nothing to reverse this trend but the significant divide occurred during the Obama administration. Also of significance during that time period was the advent of social media and the current trend to criticize what other people say or do rather than report of factual news.

I couldn't agree more. The Obama's started the divide and for anyone to say otherwise haven't really been paying attention.

This talking point, which you probably picked up from a FB meme, is hollow without facts to back it up.Last edited by 06hawkalum; 10-09-2017, 08:02 AM.

I'm going to post this, not because Elder destroys Rubin on the topic, but rather because the left really needs better points/representation if they are going to sway my opinion on the subject.
I'm a died in the wool conservative, but I have always tried to keep an open mind when debating a subject, but I could have argued the other side better than Rubin, jeez!
The bottom line is there has always been and always will be sick, poor, disadvantaged in the WORLD, not just in THIS country, it will never be perfect, and thinking it will be is just setting yourself up for failure.

Sir, you are not a centrist

He has no direction, he just wants to win, at any cost. Therefore, the GOP is now stuck in the mire, because if they pass the legislation that will satisfy their donors, then they will screw a lot of the people that actually vote for them, and all the negative advertising money in the world won't buy back their votes. Ask yourself this, why are his supporters still so angry now that he has won? Because he wants you pissed off, that way you don't think logically and will not see how you have been scammed. The crux of the biscuit is the apostrophe'

When Obama came into office they became the anti-Obama party and for eight years did everything they could to undermine his presidency, and now they are all appalled now that Trump's asinine behavior has the press uncovering much of the dubious shit he tried to hide in his campaign.

He went to that game in Indy fully intending to walk out, nice use of taxpayer money to make a trip<--- You know someone's intent when you have little to no knowledge of the event, you don't even give it the courtesy to identify it as your opinion but state it as fact
BTW, how disrespectful is it to take a knee? It is not a norm, but not what the orangutan in chief has portrayed it as<-- Again use of disparaging remarks towards our President, regardless of my thoughts of the President as well as many other positions in this country I respect the office and power of communication so I would not use disparaging remarks against the president outside of criminal behavior.
his plans to further divide and agitate the electorate, a good way to distract from his other embarrassing failures so far. <--- Embarrassing failures so far but no mention of the success? You know his intent
Now you speak of the political divide during the Gingrich years which a seed may have been planted then. It is difficult to find when the seed was planted but through the years it is easy to track where it grew. You presented an argument but have no factual basis to back it up. If you go to the 3rd graph in this link it would seem to counter your argument in case you want to use facts. Doesn't mean your argument is wrong, just if the seed was planted then it took almost a decade to come to fruition.

You must be pretty young
Race relations prior to MLK and that whole era were horrific.John Erlichman, one of President Richard Nixon's closest aides, has admitted America's "War on Drugs" was a hoax designed to vilify and disrupt "the antiwar left and black people" when it was launched in 1971.
