And, although he didn't direct it, True Romance (his script) is so fucking good it has to be on my top five list ... I read that Tony Scott was given the scripts to both True Romance and Reservoir Dogs and was told to pick one because Tarantino, who was new to the business at the time didn't think he could do both, Scott picked True Romance.
