best start to a season since 2004

they were also 5-1 in 2014, but they had blown their house money with a loss @ SF. a road victory against a legit in-conference opponent has them in the driver's seat for a first-round bye. for that reason i'd say it last night was an even bigger statement game than the victory against indy in 2010. one of the most satisfying regular season games i can remember.

this team is for real.

It's a good start ... and as satisfying as that game was (one of the better regular season wins I've watched in a good while), that's all it is ... a start.

This is a very likable team that hits ... but they have to get the offense more consistent.

I liked that they scored TD's when they got the very short field and were not relegated to FG's ... and I like that the defense played Jim Johnson ball ... not giving up long plays and then making the other team kick FG's ... but NFL football for me is about how you play when it gets cold.

Good start, though.
