with three picks in the first 3 rounds we really dont have the ammo.

They do need to get a veteran in for depth on the OL.

Carson Wentz's trade value will never be higher.

if they make a significant move. Gomer talked today about Seumalo serving as a tackle fill-in, and then listed a bunch of options that ended with seeing who's out there as free agents.

Unless Big V totally whiffs Sunday, they'll probably go cheap and available to fill the OL roster spot.

It also sounded like they want Kendricks and Bradham in the nickel.

Kirwan was talking about this today and said there won’t be a trade. He said Howie will try. He’ll call SF about Staley, and since they know it’s a need, the price will skyrocket.

A couple of weeks ago, the Giants and Seahawks were looking for a tackle and couldn't find anything as desperate as they were (including Branden Albert and Ryan Clady). I don't see them doing much.

Dang. Gonna have to be Oline, you'd think.

The 49ers know what the Eagles have. What would you be willing to give up for a 33 year old LT who can still play? One of the three 4ths? A swap of their 2nd for our 1st? Both?

I have no idea what his value is, but he has a big cap number this year ($11M), not much next year ($4M), and next to nothing in 2019 ($2M). If you think you can get another season or two out of him, it might be worth overpaying a little bit. Lynch loves his draft picks, and he needs as many as he can get his hands on. I get what Kirwan is saying, but I wouldn't be too sure something can't be worked out.

I’m kind of having the same thought process as you Duck. This team is a super bowl contender, they need to keep Wentz up right. I wouldn’t give up our 1st round pick but I think we need to make a move to get a reliable LT to keep this thing rolling.

Unltimately I don’t think anything happens outside of bringing in veteran depth on the OL.

Best case scenario, a swap of our 1st for SF's 2nd is a one spot spot move. At most, 10-12 spots, which is enough upside for the 49ers to see it as a genuine sweetener.

As much as I want to preserve this line, protect Carson, and keep this ball rolling, I also absolutely, positively don't want to be forced to draft for need with that first pick next year. Staley would give some breathing room for another season or two and allow them to go BPA with that pick.

I hope Howie is talking to Lynch and Rick Smith (about Duane Brown) as we speak.

I think Vaitai is growing into a nice player, and an incredibly valuable swing man... but we're way too close to the abyss with our depth at this point, with as many as 12 games to go.
