They won't pay off at all. The overall makeup of the youngsters stink. They just beat a team that was decimated by injuries. If this team makes the playoffs, this team will most likely draft 19th. That means another Howie Special. Pointless.

I kind of agree with this. Mailata wasn't getting real game-speed reps in, and he needed to face the fire. Development projects rarely pay off unless you expose them to the real world situations. (And honestly, he couldn't have done much worse than Peters as of late.)
