Lurie pressed Pederson for some outside candidates who might provide fresh ideas. They need fresh ideas in the coaching staff, Press Taylor as OC? WTF was Doug thinking?

It seems to me that Doug came totally unprepared. It's is 1 of 2 possibilities. Either Doug is totally fucking stupid or he self sabatoged (which I think) to get turfed and get the fuck out of Dodge. I don't think Doug wanted to be in Philly anymore are he went to the meeting knowing it would get him fired. Keeps his money and moves to another job where he has more power and without having issues with his QB win win for him.

That is what I believe happened. Doug wanted to promote Press to OC so that he would not have to give up playcalling. Lurie and Howie were not about it so they told him to pack his bags.

Which if true means Doug deserved to lose his job.
