The genesis of this fiasco began with the drafting of Hurts.
Whether or not Carson was too sensitive to the situation and reacted and played poorly as a result is water under the bridge. That horse is out of the barn. DQ’s mom gave you that STD and there’s no taking back you seeing that gaping chasm between her legs. Or that hairy mole on a nipple. Or...or...meh. I digress.
The biggest take away here is that Howie can’t read people. He couldn’t read The Fireman. Danny just didn’t really have his heart into playing football.
Wentz is a small town, big talent galoot that needs to be coddled. He absolutely deserves some of the ire for playing his part in the fiasco.
That said, his coaches didn’t reach him. Howie did him no favors with his shite drafts. And Howie reads people as well as a Rutgers man handles a nice pair...well, you know how that goes.
After Howie fucks up the coming draft, hopefully Lurie will finally see him for the incompetent weasel that he is. If not, we’re looking at the Wolman years again.

Even people who BARELY follow the Eagles know that Howie is the laughing stock of the NFL. He absolutely has to have dirt on Lurie. Nothing else makes sense.

The “puppet” argument doesn’t make sense either. Why wouldn’t an owner want the best GM he can find...one who doesn’t fail time after time, just so he can have ultimate control? I’m not buying it.

I've posted repeatedly over the last year about how pissed I was when he passed on Jefferson ... and then got even more pissed when he takes Hurts.

Jefferson and Chinn are studs and it was bad enough not taking them ... but WTF is the logic behind letting Foles go to give Wentz the team ... pay him franchise money ... and then create a QB controversy instead of committing to Wentz and building a team around him?

Like you say, Wentz is not totally absolved of blame but this was a colossal mismanagement.
