The NFL is a professional sports league right???? Why the fuck can't they get some level of consistency and competent refereeing??? That was brutal last night. They could have overcome the refs last night minus a unfortunate fumble and a few more completions. The fact remains that the officiating in this league is pathetically inconsistent and far too often a determining part of the outcome of many games.

The average NFL referee salary was $173,000 in 2013, and it is set to rise to $201,000 by 2019. Note that the NFL season only lasts about half the year, and for most NFL referees, refereeing is not their only job.

It's much easier to justify a non-call than a call, simple as that. If it's close, refs should err on the side of not flagging it. Similarly, reviewing every scoring play with fanfare is dumb. It's 2017 - have some monkey in NY look at everything while it's going on and buzz the official if there's a problem.
Honestly, the college product is better, even if the talent is leagues behind.

In general the Eagles have been playing well enough to overcome bad calls against them.
Last night, they didn't play well and the bad calls ended up being a fairly large factor in the loss.
Bottom line is they have to play better. If there is one thing you can count on in the NFL it is lousy officiating.--------
