WINS AGAIN ON 12 PASS ATTEMPTS. 8-6.
WHEN YA HAVE A RUNNING BACK LIKE TAYLOR, NO NEED TO PASS IT.
NICE WHEN AGAINST THE CHEATRIOTS .

Unfathomable how that last play went basically unnoticed to the officials .. not only was sendejo early but he launched himself into a "defenseless receiver". For all the ticky tack stuff that gets called on pass plays and something like that was apparently ok...

I think it’s more about the fact that he threw an INT at the worst time possible and was lucky not to have a couple more.

Indy is a good team and I think trading for Wentz was their best option. As of now I’m not upset that he’s gone.

Last night I rooted for the Pats for the first time in a long time. I think it is pretty clear that 2017 Wentz was either a bit of a flash in the pan or a level he simply can't get back to due to injuries. It's gone. Wentz is the '18/'19 Wentz. Overall above average with occasional "wow" ability and occassional "wtf" moments. One playoff start. Zero playoff wins. Injured all the time. Factor in that he forced his way out of town after they fired the coach for him and I really don't understand why people still pine for this guy.

I'M PLAYING DEVILS ADVOCATE HERE, AND YES, I AM A WENTZ GUY, BUT NOT TO THE POINT I DON'T LIKE OUR QB.

COME ON. SOMETIMES A DEFENSIVE PLAYER ACTUALLY MAKES A GOOD PLAY.
THAT BALL WAS TIPPED AND CAUGHT BY SOMEONE ELSE RIGHT BEFORE IT HIT THE GROUND. .

AS FOR MCARTHY'S HIM BEING HURT' ALL THE TIME', HE PLAYED THRU TWO BAD ANKLES THIS YEAR, HOW MUCH TIME DID HE ACTUALLY MISS THIS YEAR, HURT BOTH ANKLES WEEK 2, AND WAS AVAILABLE NEXT GAME.

AND MORE THAN LIKELY HEADING TO THE PLAYOFFS THIS YEAR.

AND BY THE WAY, HAS NEVER WON OR LOST A PLAYOFF GAME. WAS INJURIED BY A CHEAP SHOT VS. SEAHAGS IF ANYONE DOESN'T WANT TO REVISE HISTORY.

I kind of agree with both you guys. 2018-19 Wentz is the real Wentz. Which is a good QB. He'll never turn the ball over again like he did in 2020, but he has a habit of not giving up on plays and he's made turnovers at some reallly bad times this year.

Like McCarthy, I find it very easy to root against Wentz. Obviously the team's injuries affected him last year, but he played like a guy who thought he couldn't get benched. Every week he said he had to get better. He never got better. Once he got benched, this team got a win that somehow kept them in the playoff race through week 16. And then he forced his way out.

This is petty of me but I also got tired of hearing WentzPhans, not even necessarily on this board, blame everything Wentz did wrong for 3 years on Pederson.

This team isn't as good as Indy, but hey have a very good OL, good RBs, actually better receiving options. Wentz could have been in a decent situation here. I'm a little surprised Howie didn't play hardball, but if he thought they would cut Wentz after 2022 anyway, I like eating some cap space and getting a draft pick. Seems like it was a good trade for both teams.

Not that I'm piling on, but whenever they'd show him on the sideline wearing his mask, he was wearing it differently. Never correctly. I half expected them to show him wearing it over his eyes on the next shot. (No pun intended, he has no shot. Oh, no pun intended again.)

absolutely, I guess based on his home state with Wentz came a lot of groupies that were fans of him but not fans of the Eagles - I remember we had one on this board for awhile.

I swear I saw Reich, who is a really good coach, catching shit early this season and it felt like Deja vu.

There's this, but it's also just people getting creepily attached to individual players. Especially on social media you see it. I'm not talking about pulling for Wentz like DSG is. You want to pull for him have at it. I'm talking about fans who still to this day shit on the birds and fellow fans for Wentz leaving. Whose Wentz fandom still, a year later. seems to eclipse their Eagles fandom.

Never, in my entire life as an iggle fan, did I expect to see fellow fans siding with an ex player en masse.

I agree with the characterization of Wentz here. He's a fine player but nothing more. Not worth the contract, not worth pining over. Losing him is equivalent to Denver losing Cutler or Miami losing Tanny. I don't think the gap between our current QB situation and Wentz is as big as some make it out to be.

fwiw there is a story about him getting enraged on the field at a Patriots DL who "called his reproductive abilities into question." Do you think the Patriot called him "dickless" or did he tell him he had no balls?

5 completions and a win. We may be seeing a return to the run game league wide.

This is exactly what I'm talking about. Every time I go on social media I see some Wentz stan saying "LOOK WHAT THIS MAN CAN DO WITH JONATHAN TAYLOR, I SAID WE SHOULDN'T HAVE TRADED HIM." Like no shit, the Colts are winning games with maybe the best OL and RB in the league, while barely even asking their QB to throw.

Now to contradict myself, I think Wentz is better than those guys. I think he's fine for a team like Indy who needs to win now and had to replace a retiring QB. But for what the Eagles owed him, and considering they'd probably have to reset the QB market again before he entered his last year, I don't mind that he's gone.

I might get lambasted for this but it's kind of similar to Washington letting Cousins go. He's another guy who I think is better than he gets credit for, but is overpaid.
