  • Russell Wilson Talk

All day on 94 WIP this was the subject for the most part. Surprised by the sports writers saying yes trad 3 first rounders and a 2nd for him. I mean Why does Seattle want to trade him ? Always throws up a red flag. 33 years old been injured lately and had a bad season. I would rather Jalen get one more year and use the 3 first rounders on position of needs. Build a champion not try and buy one. Unless they feel next season is Super Bowl or bust (it isn't) then keep the picks.

I wouldn't trade three firsts. But two this year and a second next year. Then you get Wilson and a completely normal draft. If they are staying with hurts, they can't make all those picks this year. They are going to need to advance some of that forward if possible. Have to figure out the QB position. Wilson hurt his finger. It's not like an ACL or something. His numbers were excellent before the injury and he came back early. Weighing out the odds of signing Wilson, which I view as low risk high reward vs having the next great or one of the greats get drafted by the eagles, which I view as high risk but higher reward... I'll take Wilson. A good QB makes them competitive. They may not be favorites to win a sb but he'll give the offense legitimacy. I think a lot of the ugly stuff on this team will look better with a good QB.

YOU WOULD TRADE 2 ONES AND A 2ND ROUNDER, FOR A 33 YEAR OLD?...34 NOVEMBER...
NAH...I'LL PASS, BUT EVERYONE HAS THEIR OWN OPINION.

I can see both sides of the coin, IF the EAGLES were one QB away from a Super Bowl I would say do it. But the Defense is in trouble and they need another top WR, I would say use all 3 first rounders.

I get that but qbs are playing and playing well, through their mid to late 30s. 5 years of having Wilson play at an elite level would be worth the capital to me. Five years in football years is a long time. That's my point of view at least. The eagles could use those picks and very well bust out. Wilson seems solid to me.

I agree with this. I think Wilson can play at a level, for the next 3-5 years, that is higher than Hurts's ceiling.

How many Super Bowls has Wilson led the Seahawks to since 2014? Has he even been to a Conference championship game since then? He *might* get you a wild card round win but I don't get mortgaging the Eagles future for this guy. He's washed.

Team sport. Russell Wilson has had 4-5 great seasons since 2014. And he's done it with a coach who's obsessed with running the ball "more" when it's not even working.

Wilson struggled at times with a broken finger in 2021, but still played pretty well on a bad team. I think it's fair to wonder what will happen when he loses some elusiveness, but it's way too soon to say he's washed.

I thought it was all about the QB. You believe Nick and Howie are going to put a better team around an aging Wilson than Carrolle did in his prime? That's magical thinking.

Not sure how to answer this. Caroll wasn’t the GM. Russ’s OC during his prime was Brian Schottenheimer, who thinks the key to winning is that rush attempts + completions = 53.

Wilson wasn’t in his prime years when he had a really good team around him. He has had good guys to throw to lately, but the OL and defense have struggled. So…maybe Howie could put a better team around him? And I do think Sirianni could use him better than a head coach who said “We have to run the ball better, not even better, we have to run it more.”

It’s not all about the QB, but QB is the most important position. Having a QB of Wilson’s caliber is a team’s best shot at getting to a SB or conference title game, regardless of if he hasn’t made it that far in a while.
