  • Get Rid of Rooney Rule

It's degrading to minorities. That is the dumbest rule they ever put in you must interview a minority and look what happens. These guys are brought in after a team makes a decision and it's a token interview (no pun). These teams will hire who they want to hire. I would bet most teams are at least 75% sure who they are hiring prior to interviews. I have a business and hire who I think is most qualified, I do not care if they are black, white, yellow or green. But in the NFL you are talking about coaching a multi million dollar team and it has to be the right choice.

Rooney rule aside - I do agree it should be who is most qualified. That being said - there are 2 black head coaches out of 32, do you think this is a true representation and that only 6% of "qualified" coaches are black?

No I do feel some teams are not hiring black head coaches for whatever reason but it is their team and they can hire who they want. It's a shame but there is no way anyone can make them do different.

Not entirely true - there is a rule in place that is supposed to be followed and there is evidence out there that a team did not follow that rule before deciding on who to hire.

We all know this is happening, which is why many believe the Rooney rule is a sham - but now there is evidence to prove it and a lawsuit. I am no lawyer(there are plenty here) - but I don't think it is as simple as "I can hire who I want and you can't do anything about it"

I don't like getting into shit like this but.... A lot of NFL owners are still old school for whatever reasons. The constitution of the United States of America says all men are created equal. We shouldn't have to have any rules after that. Gnite
