In a nutshell because Wentz suffered no additional damage, his timetable for a productive return should been 7-9 months, they compared the results of other QB’s with a similar injury, McNabb, RG3, Brady, Palmer, and Rivers. Rivers numbers were insane, all these guys started Week 1 of the following season, Rivers and Palmer both made strong bounce backs considering theirs occurred during the playoffs no reason to think CW can’t do the same

How have other NFL quarterbacks performed after ACL surgeries?

I looked up most of the significant quarterbacks that suffered an ACL tear in the past decade-plus, how long it took them to play in a game from the date of their surgery (preseason or regular season), and finally, how they performed the season coming off the injury.

        Carson Palmer: Surgery on 1/10/06, first game back on 08/28/06 (7 months, 18 days) — 2006 stats: 16 games, 324-520 (62.3%), 4,035 yards, 28 TD, 13 INT, 6.79 ANY/A, 26 rushes for 37 yards.

        Donovan McNabb: Surgery on 11/28/06, first game back on 08/17/07 (8 months, 20 days) — 2007 stats: 14 games, 291-473 (61.5%), 3,324 yards, 19 TD, 7 INT, 6.12 ANY/A, 50 rushes for 236 yards.

        Philip Rivers: Surgery on 01/23/08, first game back on 08/09/08 (6 months, 7 days) — 2008 stats: 16 games, 312-478 (65.3%), 4,009 yards, 34 TD, 11 INT, 8.04 ANY/A, 31 rushes for 84 yards.

        Tom Brady: Surgery on 10/06/08, first game back on 08/13/09 (10 months, 7 days) — 2009 stats: 16 games, 371-565 (65.7%), 4,398 yards, 28 TD, 13 INT, 7.38 ANY/A, 29 rushes for 44 yards.

        Robert Griffin III: Surgery on 01/09/13, first game back on 09/09/13 (remember that night? 7 months, 21 days) — 2013 stats: 13 games, 274-456 (60.1%), 3,203 yards, 16 TD, 12 INT, 5.48 ANY/A, 86 rushes for 489 yards.

Sam Bradford: Surgery on 11/18/13, first game back on 08/16/14 (8 months, 29 days) — Two preseason games, and as you all know…

Sam Bradford again: Surgery on 09/08/14, first game back on 08/22/15 (11 months, 14 days, and man, what a preseason that was for the King of Sleeves) — 2015 stats: 14 games, 346-532 (65.0%), 3,725 yards (none of which came on DeMarco Murray swing passes), 19 TD, 14 INT, 5.85 ANY/A, 26 rushes for 39 yards.

        Carson Palmer again: Surgery on 11/18/14, first game back on 08/15/15 (8 months, 29 days) — 2015 stats: 16 games, 342-537 (63.7%), 4,671 yards, 35 TD, 11 INT, 8.41 ANY/A, 25 rushes for 24 yards.

        Joe Flacco: Surgery on 12/18/15, first game back on 08/27/16 (8 months, 10 days) — 2016 stats: 16 games, 436-672 (64.9%), 4,317 yards, 20 TD, 15 INT, 5.39 ANY/A, 21 rushes for 58 yards.
