  • Jalen Hurts Has Everything Working for the Eagles

Sharp in-depth analysis of the Eagles' offense from The Ringer's Ben Solak.

At first brush, Hurts looks like a cog in the Eagles machine. He isn’t a big-money player or a high draft pick, and as a limited passer, we don’t expect him to be a quarterback that elevates the passing game overall—just a piece of the puzzle that executes his portion. But Hurts is unique, and the Eagles offense is unique around him.

Read the article this morning. It was rough read - editors are a thing ffs. Calling out the future based on the past.

I honestly think Hurts is in the middle of his evolution. Second year with a coach/system since high school.

Article points to a lot of Game 01 this year. I think that whole game was a feint. It set up D's for the last 3 games. It worked.

I envision another RPO+ game in the next 2 week that resets opponents.

Hurts is evolving - this D is ligit - Coaching staff just fucking with opponents.

Imma sip my bourbon and just enjoy this run

Yeah, I’m reserving judgment on Hurts until February.

I thought Bobby Hoying and Kevin Klob could make all the throws. I’m not getting too high, or too low.

AS HURTS GETS MORE AND MORE SNAPS, THIS KID GOING TO JUST GET BETTER AND BETTER.
IF HE KEEPS MAKING THE PROGRESS HE HAS MADE IN JUST A FEW GAMES HE'S PLAYED IN THE BIGS, THE GAME WILL SLOW DOWN TO A CRAWL AND HIS READING THE DEFENSE WILL BE LIKE BREATHING.
I'M GETTING PRETTY EXCITED ABOUT THIS YOUNG MAN.
          DAMN, WAS I WRONG.....

EDIT TO ADD: AND THE WEAPONS HE HAS ON THE FIELD ARE OVER THE TOP....NICE JOB HOWIE....

AND....I WOULD LIKE TO SEE SERMON GET MORE SNAPS.

I know I'm not the only one who sees a QB who has averaged one passing touchdown a game over his career, correct? It's not like he doesn't have the weapons. I get this team is doing well over this cupcake schedule but I truly believe there's a large percentage of this fanbase that knows this type of QB isn't going to win a Super Bowl. That is the goal, correct? I'm pretty confident that's why this place isn't like past seasons. What worse is if they sign him to a big contract and they're stuck with him for the next four or five years.

Note: There's a reason other teams are hesitant to sign these types of run-first QBs to long term contracts.

Hurts is doing great. Big improvement from last year. He is seeing the field much better, I think. I just wish he wouldn't run so much. I know it's his thing. But I can't forget what happened to Wentz in that Rams game. He was never the same after that.

This is too many - already.

If you can't see the improvement - ya blind. His runs, this year, are different - I think he wants a running touch a game - I don't see him scrambling because he's not reading the field, he's scrambling because he has to or he's like "well, fuck - I just wanna run it in." He's different this year. I like it.

You just reading a stat line? Seems like you're just reading a stat line.

Just admit you do not actually know anything about football.

He has to run? Does he not have the best offensive line in football? Do you just type words and send and give it zero thought? Go back and read this again and edit it. You sound like the other dope. My god.

Who the fuck are you? I've been on here as long as you and I have no idea who you are. I'm guessing there's a good reason you're so forgettable. Beat it, dingbat.

Calm down, I had hurts at under 9.5 rushing attempts and 42 yds rushing at the local casino. Final stats 16 rushing attempts and 30something yds.

Ok but you still clearly lack any knowledge of football.
