  • You don’t take what the other team is giving you

YOU DICTATE the way the game is going to go. People: Running the football effectively keeps the ball out of the other team’s hands. Wouldn’t you rather have Sam Howell sitting on the bench than gashing the fuck out of you??

The Eagles dictated the game by throwing the ball. They had 21 first downs. 4 TDs in the second half. 8/13 on third down. They punted twice.

Just curious, does the same logic apply to the WFT? Instead of letting Sam Howell gash us, should they have run more to keep the ball out of Jalen's hands?

Running the ball for the sake of it is great way to give the ball back to the other team.

Constant passing just wears out your own defense and puts the other teams offense on the field. The problem is when you can’t run effectively and that needs to be addressed.

And here it is: When you make a great pass play, one guy on defense is demoralized. When you run EFFECTIVELY, the entire defense is looking around at each other for answers. It DESTROYS A DEFENSE!

Someone should have told Washington to stop throwing the ball yesterday. Howell wore out his own defense too much with those 400 yards and 4 TDs.

edit: running the ball just for the sake of it leads to punts, which puts the other team’s offense on the field.

              That’s just cliche stuff man.

If you’re running the ball at will as this team did against the Vikings, then fine, stick with it. If not, don’t force it. That just leads to more 3rd downs - something that good teams stay out of in 2023.

This team has some pretty good weapons on the outside. Running the ball into stacked boxes seems like a bad strategy.

We’re lacking the Jay Ajayi right now and you’ll see what that gets you.
