I don't understand. As a 1st round pick in 1994, he would have a contract of around 4 years, maybe 6 at that time. Even though he was suspended by the league, his contract should not be extended indefinitely due to being on that reserve list nor would he be paid. So he should have been a free agent in the late 1990s once the rookie contract expired.
