I've watched this six times or more

Ertz clearly took a couple two tree steps with the ball before he dived for the plane.

He had complete control when he crossed the plane.

At least the Zebras got the call right.

It's obvious the announcers were rooting for Brady and Gronk to win.

Agreed. Find a clip of the Jesse James disallowed catch from the Steeler-Pats game and you'll see the obvious difference. James takes no steps. But they couldn't shut up about it.

I just saw the youtube of Colin Herd and Mike Periera. Periera told him there was no doubt it was a catch. He talked him through the clip, showed him where he caught the ball how many steps he took, etc. And they played the Jesse James clip and Periera said there was a huge difference in the two.

Showtime's Inside the NFL had Steritore (sp?) miked up and explaining the Clement call to the ref next to him and that was way more interesting.

Basically, Steritore says he had control with the ball pinned in his forearm, shifted it himself with no loss of control at any time ... its a catch.

They didn't even bother with showing the officials discussing the Ertz catch and every ex-NFL'er on the show agreed it wasn't even a dispute.

In this game with these two major catch/no catch scenarios, you would think there would be MORE confusion following but I actually feel more clear, confident and aware of the catch rules now.

The rule is very easy to understand. I enjoyed the fact that Collinsworth spent a large chunk of the broadcast showing millions he didn't know the rule. I thought the biggest disgrace was the call at the end. Broadcasters live for those moments and those biased fucks decided to do a Jerruh Jones and scream in their pillows. Fuck em.
