He’s not the problem in the regular season. He's the problem in the Post season. Giroux hasn't done much in the playoffs since his rookie year.

he's really only been bad the past two times the flyers made the playoffs. i didn't watch much hockey in 15-16, but you don't get rid of the guy who carries your team to the playoffs. you improve elsewhere.

Move both the gingers. These guys jumped the shark years ago. Their contracts suck and this may the best time to move both of them. As said many times on here, they need clutch players like Briere was. Rebuild and go young.

Sure, it would be nice to have another Bobby Clarke or Bernie Parent. Beggars can't be choosers. I just want players that show up in the playoffs. These guys aren't the answer. What's worse is they're going to around for several more years because of more bad contracts.

i just don't think it's accurate to call him a choker. he's the reason they made the postseason. admittedly he's been horrible the last two times they've made the playoffs, but before that he averaged over a point per game in the postseason. i don't think two series where he's had no help are enough to justify writing the guy off.

Lol. You may want to check the stats before you make stupid statements.
Before Hakstol became coach, Giroux played 57 playoff games and has 61 points. Under Hakstol, he has played 12 games and has 4 points. Yeah Giroux is terrible.

When's the parade? It's odd how you Stepfords defend this team after 43 years. You move him now why he has value. He would be a good fit for a team that can surround him with players that don't turtle up in the playoffs. That way you will have a new excuse why they didn't do well next season. I'm thinking at this point, you guys have to be running out of excuses why they haven't won anything.

agreed, he did nothing. nor did he do anything the last time the flyers made the playoffs. but he's done enough in the past for me not to call him a choker. hell, he still ranks in the all-time top 50 in points per game in the postseason. i don't want him shipped out of town based on two series in which the entire team was just overmatched.
