NFL Network just reported that the players couldn't decide on exactly how and who to send so Lurie decided to send a much smaller contingent (reported maybe less than 10 guys) so Trump pulled the invite.

He obviously saw this as an insult to him and his anthem agenda and he decided to double down on the Love It or Leave It card.

The current President is nothing but a hypocrite bent on getting his way. It's all in the first line of the WH statement:
"The Philadelphia Eagles are unable to come to the White House with their full team to be celebrated tomorrow..."
I added the bold for effect obviously, so that I could point out that only 34 Patriots players went to the White House last year which represents less than two-thirds of the team. But apparently the Eagles are held to a different standard. GO BIRDS!!!!!

Not exactly (based on the NFL Net story) ... the reporter said that the players could not agree on what to do ... he stated one balloon that was floated by someone was that the entire team would go to DC and those who did not want to attend the White House ceremony would go sightseeing or do some kind of community outreach work.

That was apparently nixed.

There were reportedly others but no consensus was reached so Lurie told Trump the small contingent was going and he pulled the plug.

So he waved the flag and got the military choir and band to come to sing the anthem.
