Per Zach Lowe, talks fell apart weeks ago when San An made it clear it would take one of those two (presumably Ben) to get Kawhi.
Not a hard decision to make, but, I think we can all be glad Brett didn't do that for a rental of Kawhi. Colangelo would have probably traded both and offered to include the Heat pick if San Antonio gave back Pau Gasol too!
