  • Question about So. Philly

I am meeting a friend on Thursday around Oregon ave. and will head to the game. I am just thinking about the best way to get to stadium with the possibility of leaving my car on Oregon ave. vs driving to one of the lots. I will be in that area by 5:30 or so....I think these are a few choices:
Walk to and from the stadium from there
Uber to stadium (although getting back could be a surging and waiting mess)
Walk to Broad & Oregon and subway in

I used the “valet” service at Chickies and Petes on Broad in the past but that is also a nightmare after the game. I know there is an Italian Restaurant (I forget the name) on Packer where I would go for dinner if I could park there (and even pay) as long as I don’t have to get re-routed around S. Philly to get to WW Bridge after the game.

Any suggestions on easiest way to avoid parking in lots?
Hopes that were high in the heat of September ... can wilt and die in the chill of November. November can be cold and grey, November can be surly with bitter rain upon the world and winter coming early.

I would say if you are already parked near Oregon, yer best bet is to take the subway from Oregon and Broad. It's a bit of a hike to the stadium from Oregon.

PS Septa is moving to cards instead of tokens. You might need to buy one.

This reminds me I might need to recharge mine.

              North(ish) or South (walt whitman)?

If walt whitman, you should just drive because you'll save time on the commute relative to any other option.

If you're north, I'd park on the patco line and ride in to the BSL (15th/16th).
