  • the Kelce head injury/Time Out

The fact that a referee can identify a head injury and force a player off the field is fine. I understand why the NFL does it.

The fact that because it was called from on the field (rather than a spotter above) forces the eagles to use a timeout shows that they don't actually care about player safety.

I don't recall if that TO would have meant anything, but it's another stupid standard.

Apparently the spotter calls down to the head ref, so it could have possibly been called from above. But I have to say this is the first time I've ever seen that system used.

if the Ref calls it on the field, they use an injury TO but if they use the spotter, it doesn't. Why does that matter?
