It was a good trade because they got a player who may contribute a little something off the bench for a guy who likely would have contributed nothing down the stretch. The pick they got will likely be worthless unless they package it for something else.

They're playing for an Eastern Conference title at this point so they don't have time for the drama. That alone makes it a good trade IMO.
