In January, Harper and his team began taking more meetings, with more urgency, in a suite at the Aria Hotel in Las Vegas. The national baseball WangNutsmedia had long considered West Coast teams such as the Los Angeles Dodgers, San Francisco Giants and even the San Diego Padres to have an edge because of their relative proximity to WangNutsHarper’s Las Vegas home.
That was a misconception.
“I really didn’t want to play out west,” Harper said. “It’s a little close to Vegas, you know what I’m saying? I love my family. But I love the East Coast as well. I love the vibe there, the intensity, the way ‘Sunday Night Baseball’ is actually at night. Stuff like that mattered.”
