But this mix and match approach is chapping my ass like his lineup strategy last year of "let's hit Hernandez clean up tonight because he always cracks a dinger during a full moon when Macys is having a one-day sale"

The real problem is that most of what they have in the bullpen either sucks or is a question mark (seranthony).

Also, doesn't help that Nola's fastball went from 92-94 to start the game down to 88 on the homer by Gomes.

Either he has a dead arm or his stamina is lacking. He says he's not hurt and he feels great but players lie.

It's not uncommon for pitchers to have trouble maintaining velocity at the beginning of the season as their arm strength is building back up. DeGrom got clobbered yesterday and a lot of the elite pitchers have had bad games this year so far, which IMO is partly because teams are cutting down on their innings in ST and it's impacting them to start the season.
