Chris Long probably not returning

In a nut shell, Long only wants to return in the same "role" that he had last year and apparently the team said that role no longer exists (or isn't available to him). In response, he told them to operate as if he wasn't returning.

So at this point, it looks like unless an injury occurs (or they change their mind?), he doesn't plan on coming back. Take from those tweets what you will, but it's certainly the horse's mouth.

I'd imagine that Barnett has the role that Long wants. Imo Long is a little underrated as a player just because he's best known for his community efforts.

The guy he wrote that Tweet in response to seems like a real winner.

Wish we had Long earlier in his career. He'll be able to pick any media job he wants, probably at a national level.

I get that. The bottom line is they are dealing with each other with an atmosphere of respect.
