It's dangerous to allow oneself to come to any conclusions, or even suspicions, based on the work of amateur investigators. The FBI is on this in far greater detail than these folks. But who knows? Maybe their pet suspect is the guy. But probably not.

What I'm saying (and not just implying) is that you don't take amateur sleuths and run with it into hysteria. And that's exactly what happened with these photos.

Feeble minds are abundant in our society and are led like sheep. And yes, of course people are backtracking now. But they were led into speculating that these guys were possibly the guys. That's dangerous shit. Seriously dangerous shit.

As far as media coverage goes, I think Deadspin has done a pretty good job on this story.

They were up to date with information (pictures/video) as they received it and have tried to stem or point out how poorly the rest of the media has been at speculation and incorrectly "scooping" the story.
