      Why is it

That these guys are NEVER allowed to be what they are......human beings ? The kid was disappointed. He thought for sure he was going first round, and it didn't happen. Aaron Rodgers and Brady Quinn were the same way. Put yourself in Geno smith's shoes, and then try to tell me that you wouldn't have been as pissed or disappointed as he was.

I want no part of this kid...gimme some Jamar Taylor and you have yourself am automatic starter in the secondary.

I also like the DT out of Bama.

He can be disappointed, but why leave NY? Stick around for the interviews,
          Etc and be a man...

There was likely a practical side to it. He had a contingent (family) in NY with hotel rooms for one night. It's not always a breeze to extend. Money alone could be a barrier. I don't know the financial health of the Smith family, but nice hotel rooms in the Big Apple are expensive as hell.

So he's not a man because he didn't stay ?

That's absurd, and frankly not very smart.

Edit: Try having the whole country watch one of the more disappointing times in your life, and then have someone tell you to "be a man" when you act disappointed.

sure, i'd be disappointed. I also am 100% sure I wouldn't act like my dog died all night long when my name wasn't called and then say I wasn't showing up the next night. I'd want to show teams I could handle adversity when things weren't going my way. Especially if I was playing a position where I'm supposed to be a leader who can handle swings like that.

exactly. he's coming off as a thin skinned little bitch. that's a huge character flaw if you're shopping for a franchise QB.

done or said something out of anger/disappointment that you took back after cooling off for a bit ? That's what this is. He was pissed, and rightfully so. I suspect he'll learn from this and react better the next time around.

I couldnt' agree more...this is not a guy you want in the huddle when trailing with 2:00 minutes to go. I will be tweaked if the Eagles draft this guy tonight...he will not be able to handle the heat that comes from being a starting QB in Philadelphia...he has "B" written all over him. Give me Scott in the later rounds.

Bullshit - cut him some slack. WHy stay in NYC in the green room so that ESPN can cut to a shot of you every 5 minutes to add to the humiliation? He has pride - and he should go. He'll fly to the city that drafts him when the time comes.

I don't blame him for a second for not wanting to sit there today.

                            that's why you're not a franchise QB.

well, that and the fact you're 5-5 and a buck fitty.

1 of the big knocks on this kid was he's good when things are going well but folds when the going gets tough.

pulling this stunt just reaffirms the feeling he turns and runs when faced with adversity.
