  • Too Many Quarterbacks

How do you get these guys enough snaps to learn a brand new offense?

If they were going to get another QB in the draft they should have released Vick or traded Foles. Who the hell knows if Barkley has a better future than Foles? And three million down the drain to cut Vick.

The obvious odd man out is Dixon but I think Chip has a sentimental attachment to him.

    Plan ahead, Chip, plan ahead.

Dixon was on the Ravens practice squad last year

Right. And cut by Pittsburgh before that.

Like I said, Dixon obviously has the least value. No reason to be wasting repetitions on him now that they've committed to developing Barkley.

        Not really

They have three legit NFL quarterbacks and two stiffs. You get the feeling Kelly's offense is going to need three QB's to finish the season.

What's noteworthy here is that the Barkley pick proves once and for all that Kelly is not necessarily looking for a running QB to lead his offense. So for that reason, Vick has no strategic advantage over Foles or Barkley.

Once again though, it looks like Coach Kelly should be taken at his word. He wants those guys to duke it out for the job. Impossible to predict which one of the three rises above the rest. But one of them surely will. What I mean by that is he's not trading any of them until much closer to September, if at all.

Well - Kinne is obviously gone. Dixon might land on the practice squad if he can survive the wire. He also provides a different skill-set which is useful on a scout team nowadays.

As far as reps, I think you're right, but I'm not sure how important it is. Barkley and Foles to a lesser degree (maybe) will see a limited playbook. And Given Vick's history, that might be true of him as well. There's a lot of camp to get through

I only count four QBs. Who am I missing? And which are legit? Vick was legit at one point. Right now, I'm not sure they have any legit QBs especially in a new system.

You ever been to a training camp? There aren't all that many snaps to go around. This is not a good situation at QB. Chip needs to narrow it down quick.

G.J. Kinne - he was a UFL player and is camp fodder.

              He's got an intriguing story

Could come in handy for at least 2013. I don't know the current practice squad eligibility requirements. Does he even qualify?

Yeah. He better hurry. They're all getting zero snaps right this minute.

yeah - that I don't know. I think you can only be on it for the first 4 years of your career. Or something like that

OK. I'm going to assume he's not in the competition.

I'm not so sure about Dixon. Chip may want to give him a chance.

Dixon may stick around to teach the intricacies of the O to the rest.

Ideally, the three QBs on the roster for the Redskins game are Foles, Barkley and Dixon. In that order.

I'm thinking they pick up another one or two QBs inthe later rounds. And don't forget.....Sanchez and Tebow are bait now.
