If you think hiring a coach without NFL experience was smart and believe in what he's doing, I would say that limits your ability to criticize Lurie if Kelly busts out.

Then if Kelly succeeds and becomes a good NFL coach, your initial disdain for him should preclude you from joining the bandwagon. The swords cuts both ways, right?

Bardy is welcome to express an opinion on Kelly if he wants. Although I bet he doesn't have one other than "wait and see". Gutsy.

I agree with you here. There were people who were worshiping Reid (FF) when he got hired. I seem to recall they were referred to as the Mouseketeers. YAY REID (FF) was their mantra.

I remember bullsh*t like "five year plans" and crap like that.

We know how that turned out. Reid (FF) sorta stepped in sh*t by drafting the best QB in the 1999 draft. But the mother of all mopers could only take Reid (FF) so far.

I'm just waiting to see some football before I canonize Chip Kelly or
condemn him to the trash heap. Believe me if the football this upcoming season sucks I will be searching for some catchy phrase analogous to FFF.

Just no reason to be overly critical until he's lost a game. I doubt you'll have to wait long with our stellar qb, assuming Vick is under center and doesn't get knocked stupid during preseason.

Sure. I'd give credit where it was due but it would preclude me from saying I thought he was a good hire.

But my guess is the true believers will become the biggest Kelly haters in the end. They'll be off the bandwagon in a second.

It became very easy to tee off on FF and say "here we go again".

I just don't see it after one draft with a coach who clearly is here to change.

I've spoken to a few players (no one other than camp bodies) and they say they've never experienced anything like this. Players wear heart rate monitors during drills, uptempo practice etc.

No point in acting like the two old farts from the muppets. We got the breath of fresh air we asked for.

i don't think i've been overly critical. it only seems that way because any small criticism of kelly brings out hoards of kelly kids and i end up getting drawn into prolonged exchanges.

generally my opinion is also wait and see but i don't restrict it to game results.

For me it was long past time for a change from Reid (FF).

Anything would have been better than Reid's (FF's) coaching last year. I don't think it's much of a stretch to say that literally you or I or anybody on the board could have done better.

Reid (FF) was MAILING IT IN last year and the players saw that and became lackadaisical.
